Philosophy behind my wedding package pricing
Providing you the best possible value for your wedding day. This begins with building some background and history of your story leading to your wedding day. I create a dvd using your favorite photos from your past. We record your voices to be telling stories while the DVD is playing . These make excellent keepsakes for your wedding guests. Many reception halls have screens and projectors to play your "in the beginning" DVD for all your guests to enjoy while dining. I also have a digital projector and 96" screen to use when a venue may not offer that service.
The proposal has generally happened when couples decide to go with me for their wedding photography. But if it hasn't, I am happy to cover your proposal from a discrete distance.
I believe that the engagement session is one of the best ways to discover how well we work together. My personality is outgoing, fun, and straight forward. This is especially good when working under the difficult time pressures of the wedding day. More than 30 years wedding photography experience allows me to negociate the random distractions of a typical wedding day. Every wedding is unique, but every wedding is perfect in the end, two people who are in love become husband and wife.
Working together we will create a style for your wedding photography. Some like the more dramatic, contrasty images with vivid colors, while others like a more light and airy feel to their wedding story. Others prefer a pure documentary style of photography for their wedding, even in black and white. In the end we will provide you images to tell your story in the manner closest to your requests, cooperation, and the cooperation of so many guests being where they are suppose to be, when they are suppose to be there. In over 30 years, I have yet to have everyone where they were suppose to be, but have always managed with plan B or improvising a new plan. The most important thing is becoming happily married, and enjoying your wedding day with your friends and family!
Many clients will have their family portrait sessions the day before the wedding. I recommend this as it allows more time for a more refined look to your formal portraits. There are far fewer distractions the day before than there are the day of your wedding. Many brides and grooms enjoy a "Trash the Dress" type of session after their wedding. I have always called this the day after portraits for brides and grooms to enjoy some more contemporary and creative images that risked getting their garmets dirty or ruined before the wedding.

I can only offer this package to six couples every year. I pay myself $10 an hour for billable hours. This wedding package is budgeted to take 160 hours, and can take up to 200 hours (5 weeks). My rates are always locked in, so your budget with MVPortraits is guaranteed.
At a minimum I have $10,000 in camera's, lenses, and lights to professionally photograph your wedding. I spend several thousand dollars every year on memberships and learning new techniques from the best photographers, videographers, photoshop and paint pros in the world. Computer and software investment just for these services offered is over $6500, and just like cameras, lenses and lights, they have to be updated periodically.
I've been a professional photographer for over 30 years, and believe part of being professional is continued learning from other professionals. Equipment only matters when you know how to use it. Todays camera's are great for snapshots, yeilding well exposed, in focus images. A professional will create images telling the story of love, joy and celebration for your wedding day. A professional will interact with your guests who have cameras, and not feel threatened by them taking snaps of the professionally posed groups. As I professional I am charging a modest fee for my time, providing you with an excellent experience and superb value of products, quality, knowledge, creativity and personality!
